FINESSE is an interferometer simulation. It can calculate, for example, light field amplitudes, error signals and transfer functions for interferometers. The interferomter can be given by the user as a set of components, like mirrors and beamsplitters. Gnuplot is used for plotting the data. The code is written in C and uses a numerical algorithm to solve the set of linear equations that (internally) represents the interferometer. The calculations are done in the frequency domain. (Please check also the graphical user interface for Finesse Luxor.)

The program is the product of an ongoing development and will be improved regularly.
