Due to the large diversity of Linux/UNIX distributions common public domain software for general purpose graphics like Gimp, ImageMagick, etc. cannot be supported reliably anymore in the form of central AFS installations. Users are kindly asked to install such software locally on their desktop computers. Most of the common Linux/UNIX distributions offer stable packaging of relevant public domain graphics software and provide convenient installation/configuration means.
