How to manage Certificates

From the user's point of view, there are three types of use cases which require a specific care with handling certificates.
These are the use cases where users have to

  1. handle an own user certificate and the corresponding private key
  2. handle (and trust) user an server certificates from third parties (e.g. a server certificate from a banking server or another user certificate for authentication purposes)
  3. handle (and trust) certificates from Certificate Authorities (CAs)
