Genome Assembly

For shotgun sequence assembly, Phil Green's phrap assembler program from the phredphrap package has been parallelized, optimized and converted for full 64 bit support in a portable way for usage on SMP systems.

Current architectures: Linux (x86_64), IBM AIX.
