GenDB: An annotation system for prokaryotic genomes

  • GenDB is an open-source Software system for automatic identification, classification and annotation of genes developed by the University of Bielefeld (CeBiTec). 
  • A versatile web interface allows expert annotation with large, geographically dispersed teams of experts.
  • RZG provides a local installation of  GenDB 2.2 with connection to dedicated computing facilities.
  • For details about usage at RZG see also the MIGenAS portal.
  • First-time users are kindly asked to obtain additional privileges (e.g. a project entry in the gendb database, access to the dedicated batch resources, etc.) by sending a short note to bioinfo-help@rzg.mpg.de
