Computing at RZG

The RZG is a joint computer center of the Max Planck Society and the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) in Garching near Munich.

The RZG is open to all institutes of the Max Planck Society and scientific institutions of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Users affiliated with institutes that are already utilizing computing resources at RZG can apply for an account via a registration form (pdf and ps). The completely filled form needs to be submitted to the RZG by mail or via FAX (+49-89/3299 1301). Alternatively, you can use the electronic registration form.

Institutes of the Max Planck Society and other scientific institutes which are not already using facilities of the RZG can ask for a registration by writing a letter to the head of the RZG. In this case, persons who have the authority to confirm applications of their institute affiliates need to be accredited by sending their signature to the RZG.

Only completely filled forms can be processed, i.e. the form must be signed by the user as well as confirmed by a responsible authority of the user's institute.  All users accept the regulations for the usage for the computation facilities at the RZG (Benutzungsordnung) by submitting their application to the RZG. For more information see here.

In order to allow for requests a valid telephone number of the user is mandatory.

Requests can be sent to Benutzerberatung@rzg.mpg.de by email or via telephone call  (089/3299-2175).
