Importing Root CA Cert

Importing the Telekom Root CA Cert

 

While Windows operating systems currently come with the Telekom CA Certificate installed, users of Firefox and Thunderbird have to install ist manually.

 

Firefox

Click on the following link:

http://www.pki.dfn.de/fileadmin/PKI/zertifikate/deutsche-telekom-root-ca-2.crt

Then you should see this window:

 

 
 

Now click "View" to examine the CA certificate:

 

and compare the fingerprint with the one above. If it is correct then you can trust the certificate:

Finally you can check whether the CA certificate was imported by going to
 

Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Encryption -> View Certificates -> Authorities

 

 

Thunderbird

Right-click the following link:

http://www.pki.dfn.de/fileadmin/PKI/zertifikate/deutsche-telekom-root-ca-2.crt

and save the certificate to disk temporarily.

Then, in Thunderbird, open

Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Certificates

 

Then select

View Certificates -> Authorities

 

Click on "Import" and select the certificate file that you stored in the first step

 
 

Now click "View" to examine the CA certificate:

 

and compare the fingerprint with the one above. If it is correct then you can trust the certificate:

 

Finally, check that the certificate was successfully imported:
