A Guide to the Software Documentation

General

• IBM Documentation for the installed IBM software.

• Public domain (GNU) software is installed in AFS, and its documentation available with man.
  (Unless you mess it up in your .login or .cshrc files, the environment variable MANPATH should include the /afs/ipp/common/soft/GNU/man directory.) Especially noteworthy is the printable documentation for the gmake command.

• Check the pages on Super-Computing for documentation on other software.

• Compilers
  This is where you can find the Fortran user's guide and language reference

• Parallel Programming
  See the IBM documentation on the Parallel Environment for AIX.

• Numerical Libraries
  The ESSL and ("Engineering and Scientific Subroutine Library"), and the pESSL (Parallel ESSL) documentation.
